The Black Widow is composed of Mizuno’s Black Array Carbon with 5Z technology throughout the barrel. This 5Z technology spreads out the composite material by weaving it in a specific manner to increase the size of the sweet spot. Within the taper from the barrel to the handle, you can find a special Anti-Shock construction to help disperse the vibration from the barrel due to miss-hits – adding to the already enlarged sweet spot. By reducing the vibration, miss-hits are less painful and the hitter can have more confidence at contact, regardless of where the ball meets the barrel.
The Black Widow fastpitch softball bat is a one-piece design with a balanced weight distribution. This design gives the Black Widow an extremely lightweight swing with a stiff feel at contact. For the youth player looking to take her game to the next level, the (-13) drop weight is light, while the one-piece construction provides a traditional, stiff feel. Since the composite is high performance, this bat is perfect for the youth player that takes the game seriously.
To round each end of the bat, the Black Widow features a cupped-style endcap and a synthetic leather grip. The endcap helps maintain the balanced weight and optimizes the enlarged sweet spot, while the synthetic leather grip provides a traditional feel and tack.
